Produced by Tiny Dynamite for their 2022-23 season, directed by my dear friend and colleague Cat Ramirez, and starring two friends/incredible performers (Kimie Muroya and Lexi Thammavong). This project started pre-pandemic, with Cat and Tiny Dynamite’s Artistic Director KC MacMillan dreaming and scheming to bring this play to Philly. They folded me into the visioning as a choreographer, and then eventually as a performer as well. It’s always a joy and honor to choreograph for/with my friends. Cat gave me all the space and agency I needed to be able to work in a way that was conducive to my working style/rhythm. As a creator and collaborator, it’s all I could ever ask for. Meet Murasaki Shikibu Followed by Book-Signing and Other Things was written by the brilliant Julia Izumi.
