An informal beginning — I come out to explain what I was hoping to make and share with the audience, based on some images and ideas around effort and intentionality. I make excuses and apologize for it not being complete. I hint at some early movement motifs I was playing with to get at something deeper. I ask for permission to share a small portion of my research. We slide into a full performance. 28minutes later, I am sweaty, exhausted, and just as my attempts look like they went nowhere, something a little bit magical happens…
